Celebrate World Water Day this March

May 15, 2023

Yes! Air Conditioning and Plumbing would like you to help support World Water Day this March 22, 2019. The goal of World Water Day is to ensure there is water for all by 2030. Today, billions of people are living in a water crisis without access to safe water.

With this year’s theme, “Leave no one behind,” we have created a list of helpful tips so that you can support the cause and fight for clean water.

1. Cut down shower time and unnecessary water usage

There are many ways you can cut down on household water use, such as in the kitchen, laundry room and bathroom. Turn off the faucet when brushing your teeth, soaping up your hands or washing your face. Did you know that one single toilet flush uses 7 gallons of water? That’s a lot! So, be mindful when flushing as to not do so excessively.  Plenty of opportunities to conserve!

2. Fix leaky faucets

If you notice a spike in your water bill, then you may have a leak problem. Did you know a leaky faucet can accumulate as much as three gallons a day? Fixing leaky faucets will not only conserve water, but it will save you money. So, call Yes! Air Conditioning and Plumbing for any of your leaky faucet needs.

3. Water outdoor plants in the morning

Watering your lawn and outdoor plants while the air is cooler and dew is on the ground will conserve more water, since hotter air causes evaporation. Plus, watering at night can cause lawn diseases and mold growth. Yuck! The best times to water your lawn are between 4 a.m. to 10 a.m.
