Yes! Helps Local Family in Need
This month, Yes! Air Conditioning & Plumbing had the opportunity to help a local family in need. The four Gribbin family members had been living in a home with a broken air conditioning unit for over 5 years. After learning of the family’s hardships and their defective air conditioning unit, we quickly decided that the Gribbin family was in need of a new HVAC system, especially with the extreme heat we’re currently experiencing this time of year. Yes! was happy to help by donating and installing a complete HVAC system to the family.
Jodyn Gribbin is a single mother of two who also serves as a caregiver to her elderly mother. When Jodyn Gribbin’s youngest son was diagnosed Gribbin-family-free-ac-.png cancer 8 years ago, she was unable to pay to fix her defective unit, and buying a new unit was not an option, due to growing hospital expenses. During the summer months, when temperatures reached 110 degrees, she was forced to take her family to stay in hotels overnight. Now cancer-free, Jodyn’s son attends school at a local college and lives in the home with her elder son, a Las Vegas police officer. With her elderly mother moving in from New Jersey, Jodyn was forced to either sell her home or call her friends at Yes! in hopes of help.
The new HVAC system installed in the Gribbin’s home will help lower energy costs, improve air quality, and keep their home cool and comfortable in the hot Las Vegas summers. Poorly maintained or out-of-date air conditioning units can lead to a number of problems in the home, including unclean indoor air, higher energy bill costs, and potentially expensive repairs from the system working overtime. Yes! happily donated the unit and labor costs by installing the complete system at no charge.
Words cannot express how grateful I am for what Yes! has done for my family, said Jodyn Gribbin. Throughout my life, my family has faced hardships. I’ve worked so hard to provide for my family, but sometimes you just can’t afford to fix everything. Yes! has made my house livable and safe, and we cannot thank them enough.
